This pocket-sized mechanical candle box recreates the lighting compacts of the 1800s. It features a wind-up spark igniter, a mechanical riser cradle, and a forged antique brass patina finish.
The latched lid opens to reveal a high-tension side-key that winds a spring coil. Tripping the mechanical lever strikes a spark to ignite a pilot flame. A lower crown with scrollwork turns a hidden gear array, smoothly raising and lowering the candle pillar as it burns.
The case is made of high-density zinc-copper alloys with deep relief portraits and a weathered patina. It includes internal wind shields to help stabilize the flame outdoors. The box is compact enough for a vest pocket or backpack pouch.
